“Design Albania” nasce come una tesi di laurea in disegno industriale che ha l’ambizioso obbiettivo di trovare delle proposte e idee per uno sviluppo del design in Albania. Si cercherà di guardare indietro nella storia dell’artigianato albanese per individuare degli oggetti/artefatti di valore storico e culturale per reinterpretarli in chiave contemporanea.

Ricerca:
Nella categoria “Ricerca” saranno raccolte tutte le informazioni necessarie riguardanti la storia dell’artigianato albanese e gli sviluppi attuali; ci sarà una ricerca sempre in aggiornamento sulle modalità con cui i designer contemporanei si rifanno alla produzione artigianale per rivalutarlo e reinterpretarlo.
Proposte:
In questa sezione saranno raccolte tutte le proposte per un “crafts inspired” design in Albania.
Il progetto è aperto anche a contributi esterni.

Trieste Contemporanea Design Contest: deadline and jury
We are pleased to announce that the jury of POCKET LUCK – Ninth International Design Contest Trieste Contemporanea will meet at the Executive Secretariat of the C.E.I. (Central European Initiative) in Trieste on Monday the 13rd and Tuesday the 14th of September 2010 to evaluate the submitted projects and decide the awarding of the following prizes:
- GILLO DORFLES PRIZE – TRIESTE CONTEMPORANEA DESIGN 2010 for the best project: Euro 4000,00.
- C.E.I. PRIZE for the best designer from one of the C.E.I. countries not part of the European Union: Euro 3000,00.
– BEBA PRIZE for the youngest designer among those selected: Euro 1000,00.
The jury will be formed by Cristina Morozzi, journalist, critic and design art director – president (Italy); Daniele Capra, journalist and curator – Trieste Contemporanea representative (Italy); Barbara Fabro, CEI senior executive office – CEI representative (Italy); Susanna Legrenzi, journalist and independent curator (Italy); Agnieszka Jacobson-Cielecka, journalist and curator (Poland); Luca Nichetto, designer (Italy); Gjon Radovani, architect (Albania); Janka Vukmir, director of the Institute for Contemporary Art Zagreb (Croatia).
The competition deadline is August 31st, 2010. The entry is free. The designers from Albania, Austria, Belarus, Bosnia Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Estonia, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Macedonia, Moldova, Montenegro, Poland, Romania, Serbia, Slovak Republic, Slovenia, Turkey and Ukraine are called to submit a project for a new pocket lucky charm/talisman. The contest is promoted by the Trieste Contemporanea Committee under the patronage of the C.E.I. (Central European Initiative).
